Travis Barker Urges Compassionate Choices For Animals in New Humane World for Animals Campaign

From punk rock bad boy to animal advocate, Barker proves doing good can still have an edge in a new PSA campaign created in tandem with agency partner FlyteVu.

Today, Blink-182 drummer and longtime animal lover Travis Barker sheds his bad boy image for a good cause. Barker is teaming up with Humane World for Animals, formerly called the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International, to encourage people to take action for animals by implementing Small Steps for Good in their everyday lives.

In a new public service announcement created by the Humane World for Animals’s ad agency partner, FlyteVu, the punk rock icon reveals how creating a better future for animals does not require dramatic life changes. Simple choices like eating more plant-based meals, choosing cruelty-free products, embracing animal-friendly fashion or adopting a shelter pet instead of buying one from a pet store can have a big impact on reducing animal suffering.

“Doing good is cool, and it doesn’t have to be hard. I've been vegan for years because I care deeply about animals,” said Barker. “Every day, we make choices that reflect what matters to us. Whether it's what we eat, wear or buy, small actions can add up to meaningful change. I'm proud to partner with Humane World for Animals to encourage more people to make choices that help build a better future for animals.”

Known for his influential career in music, Barker has been a dedicated advocate for animals for many years. Through his collaboration with Humane World for Animals, Barker is helping raise awareness of issues affecting animals. A vegan since 2008, he has backed that commitment through investments in vegan restaurants, a cruelty-free wellness brand and support for ethical fashion.

“Creating a better world for animals takes bold systemic change, and it starts with the small choices people make every day,” said Kitty Block, president and CEO of Humane World for Animals. “That’s the idea behind our Small Steps for Good campaign: Showing that everyone has the power to make a difference for animals. Travis has inspired people for years by using his voice and platform to advocate for animals in a way that is authentic to who he is. We hope this campaign encourages others to discover their own small steps and see how those actions can add up to meaningful change.”

To reach Gen Z and millennials, audiences who are deeply passionate about this cause, its agency, FlyteVu, knew it needed to come up with a way to put animal cruelty on consumers’ radars in a way that was culturally relevant, engaging and accessible, while showing how the barrier to doing good doesn’t have to be as hard as one may think.

“Who better than one of rock’s most famous bad boys to prove you don’t have to be a saint to do some good? That’s what we loved about Travis,” said FlyteVu Chief Creative Officer Linda Knight. “Travis makes the message unexpected and entertaining, while showing that caring about animals doesn’t require being perfect, playing nice, or changing who you are. You just have to do something. And that something doesn’t have to be huge. Small acts add up.”

The campaign spans organic and paid social media ads, as well as CTV ad buys on Paramount+, Tubi and Roku. Future media buys may span Hulu and HBO Max, as well as additional PSA announcements running on national and local television.
