Between September 16th and 24th, 2023, International Coastal Cleanup Day is celebrated. It is a global event that promotes local cleaning actions on beaches, coastal areas, rivers, lakes and other waterways.

This anniversary coincides with the return to school and, with this in mind, we believe it is opportune for the MINISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT to reinforce its relevance by promoting environmental awareness from childhood.

We created a guerrilla action that was, at the same time, a social experiment. In some previously chosen schools, we installed aquariums with real fish next to a sign that said: THROW GARBAGE HERE. Then, with the help of hidden cameras, we observed the young people's reactions.

After a period of mystery, members of the team approached the students and handed them a pamphlet that said: IF YOU CAN'T HEAR TRASH HERE, DO THE SAME ON THE BEACHES.

The back of the flyer brings a message of awareness about the impact that garbage has on the marine ecosystem and also on humanity itself. Furthermore, he explains that this is an action by the MINISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT for environmental preservation.
