Wireless price cuts rarely feel fun. Metro by T-Mobile is changing that with The Price Drop Drop, a new campaign that takes a $10/month discount and turns it into fashion. The concept comes from BarkleyOKRP, the independent agency behind Metro’s creative work.
To dramatize the savings, Metro partnered with Mía Lee, a South Side Chicago artist whose paintings explore themes of Black identity, cultural legacy, and personal storytelling. Her bold style, which blends expressive forms with vibrant color, has led to collaborations with Chance the Rapper, Urban Outfitters, and now Metro by T-Mobile.
“Partnering with Metro felt natural because they show up the same way I try to — with honesty, intention and a deep love for where we come from,” said Lee. “This collab with Metro isn’t just about fashion. It’s about being seen, being heard and showing pride in where you’re from. I wanted every piece to feel like it could’ve come right off your block.”
The limited-edition merch capsule features a cap ($20), a t-shirt ($30), and a 3-pack of socks ($12). Each piece carries $120 in the pocket — the exact annual savings customers will now see. It’s a tangible stunt that reframes a functional discount as a cultural moment, while signaling Metro’s ambition to play in spaces that typically belong to fashion and lifestyle brands.
The launch went live September 25 with a social-first rollout across TikTok and Instagram, anchored by TheMetroDrop.com — a new hub designed to house future drops as Metro continues building a “drop culture” around its brand.
