In one of the most talked-about moments of the Riga Marathon, Latvian rapper Fiņķis stunned spectators – not by crossing the finish line, but by deliberately stopping just a few steps before it.
His reason? To highlight a crisis in Latvia’s education system. Holding a sign that read “School is a marathon that every 5th student doesn’t finish,” Fiņķis transformed his months-long marathon training into a bold statement on student dropouts and lack of support in schools.
The campaign was created by NGO Iespējamā misija (Mission Possible) and energy company Enefit with the aim of recruiting STEM teachers.
