Description
Hyundai Motor America and INNOCEAN USA have launched “The Mark of a Warrior,” a national campaign supporting Hyundai Hope on Wheels, the company’s nonprofit focused on helping end childhood cancer. Built around the organisation’s iconic handprint, the campaign transforms the symbol into an emblem of courage and resilience, presenting children fighting cancer as “Little Warriors.”
The cinematic hero film, “Little Warrior,” was directed by Matthijs van Heijningen via MJZ and narrated by Scarlett Johansson in her debut as Hyundai’s new brand voice. The film follows a young girl battling a gigantic monster in a colosseum, eventually defeating it with a single decisive blow using her painted palm. The visual metaphor concludes with the child placing the handprint on her face and ringing a bell to a cheering crowd.
The 60-second film launched around the opening game of the NFL season and is running nationally across broadcast, streaming, digital and social channels throughout September and beyond. The wider campaign also includes social content and community activations designed to highlight the stories of children and families connected to Hyundai Hope on Wheels.
The campaign extends into hospitals through a partnership with Brave Gowns, transforming traditional hospital gowns into “Warrior Gowns” featuring armour-inspired designs intended to help children feel empowered during treatment. More than 6,000 gowns are expected to be distributed to hospitals through 2026, giving the campaign’s warrior theme a physical presence beyond the advertising.
