Nike and Atlético are announcing a multi-year partnership that establishes Nike as the Club’s exclusive sports sponsor and supplier. For the first time, Nike will sponsor a club in Minas Gerais, outfitting Galo starting in 2026. This collaboration marks the beginning of a new era for both the brand and the Club.
The partnership covers the complete product line for the men's and women's teams, youth academy, and technical staff, including match uniforms, warm-up gear, training apparel, travel outfits, and casual wear.
Built on shared values, trust, ambition, and a forward-looking vision, this partnership reflects a strong commitment from both sides. Nike, through Fisia — the brand’s official distributor in Brazil — invests in Galo with confidence in a lasting, strategic, and globally impactful alliance, while Atlético has chosen a brand that believes in the Club’s project and the power of its passionate fan base, the Massa Atleticana.
Atlético, true to its name, was founded as the club for mineiros (people from Minas Gerais), of all backgrounds and has earned a massive, passionate following. Its history is defined by major achievements, including the Libertadores (2013), the Brazilian Championship (1937, 1971, and 2021), the Copa do Brasil (2014 and 2021), the Recopa Sudamericana (2014), and the Copa Conmebol (1992 and 1997). Nike, in turn, reinforces its commitment to growing the game and fueling football passion in the state, bringing innovation and inspiration – especially for young Atlético fans. Atlético's youth academy will be the first to wear Nike uniforms, debuting limited-edition kits designed exclusively for on-field use during the country’s biggest youth football tournament, Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior. The professional team will unveil the official uniforms at the opening of the State Championship. These limited-edition pieces will be exclusive for on-field use and will not be available for commercial sale. Soon after, fans will have the opportunity to experience Nike’s apparel innovations through the Club’s kits and additional styles, bringing the brand’s performance-driven design closer to Galo’s passionate community.

CAMPAIGN “THE GREATEST PLAY TOGETHER”
To celebrate the partnership, Nike presents the film "The Greatest Play Together," created in collaboration with the creative studio AKQA. The cinematic piece follows a 15-meter truck on a symbolic journey through Belo Horizonte, carrying the message that unites the two football powerhouses.
With an aesthetic that blends mineiro pride and Galo spirit, the film travels through iconic city landmarks — including Praça 7, a historic place for fans, Viaduto Santa Tereza, Praça da Liberdade, and Praça do Papa. Along the route, subtle details reveal the Atlético universe: a license plate C4M197I in tribute to the 71 Brazilian title, a small Galo mascot on the dashboard, a truck skirt stamped with the Nike Football logo, and a radio broadcasting the legendary 9x2 rout over their biggest rival.
The concept celebrates the union of two giants — Atlético, the most decorated club in Minas Gerais with 50 state titles, and Nike, the world's leading sports brand – marking the start of a new era.
