The Dignity Museum
Today in Chile there is a pandemic that has been going on for more than 30 years and which is little talked about these days, INEQUALITY. Chile has been regarded globally as a case of economic success in recent decades. However, a silent enemy grew in the shadows of this apparent success: Chile is one of the countries with the greatest social inequality. This led to the largest social explosion in the past 30 years, mobilizing miles of people on the streets with a single cry: Dignity. An explosion that gave rise to an artistic expression that believes that you only learn from history if it is not erased. Thus the Museum of Dignity was born. A non-profit creative collective that selects works made spontaneously by different artists. The selected pieces were framed in gold to highlight them on the walls and preserve them there forever. The criteria was purely artistic and conceptual. The museum's message went as far as the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center decided to rescue "El Gabriela" and become part of its permanent exhibition. Adding also to the purpose of the Museum of Dignity: Perpetuate memory for the inequality of the past, leave the place to Dignity for all Chileans.
