Statues Quo Exhibition
Description
Ogilvy Uruguay and Dove Uruguay created the "Statues Quo Exhibition"
The installation reflects that as a woman grows, the lower her self-esteem is
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the launch of its campaign for Real Beauty, Dove conducted a new study in Uruguay with the consulting ID Retail to explore and learn about the current state of Beauty. The study concludes that as a woman grows, her self-esteem decreases: while girls (74%) say they have high self-esteem, the number decreases in adolescence (40%) and even more so in adult women (34%).
"Statues Quo Exhibition was born from the need to represent the data provided by the research on a real scale. Thus, we created this piece: through statues of a girl, an adolescent girl, and an adult woman, made on a scale of the level of self-esteem they declare to have. The visual impact is powerful, and the connection with the people on the street was immediate," explained Sebastián Mir, CCO Ogilvy Uruguay.
Romina Rivero CD Ogilvy Uruguay, added: "With Statues Quo Exhibition, we managed to transform data into a tangible experience. To maximize the impact, we located this installation in universities, schools, and different public spaces in the country. More than 1.6 million people came face to face with these 3 women. Undoubtedly, the impact of size leads us to take the dimension of the fall in self-esteem, invites us to reflect, moves us, and proposes us to talk."
Nicolás Peyrous, Head of Marketing, Beauty & Personal Care Unilever Uruguay, said: "From the moment they presented us with the idea, we loved it. It is a creative resource that solves a complex need. It manages to capture people's attention through the presentation of a new piece of data, humanizing it and showing it in an impactful way. The idea gives life to a rigorous investigation on the State of Beauty in Uruguay and invites people to reflect on the subject. At the same time, it brings tools to help strengthen women's self-esteem."
Dove's self-esteem project was declared of ministerial interest by the Ministry of Social Development of Uruguay.
