Major League Baseball just implemented its biggest rule change in decades: the pitch clock. It has dramatically sped up the pace of play – and shortened games by nearly 30 minutes. That means there’s no longer time for “tall boy” beers of the past. Shorter games call for shorter beers, which is why Bally Sports is proud to introduce Bally Sports Short Boys: stubby little 8.4 oz cans of summer refreshment perfect for today’s speedier ball games.

Every great beer deserves a great beer commercial. Bally Sports was inspired by classic beer ads from the 1970s: stunning scenic vistas, ice-cold beers, random majestic animals, and, of course, an ear-wormy and era-appropriate jingle composed by BUTTER Music and Sound, and written and sung by BUTTER Creative Director Max Schad. Bally Sports used the song’s lyrics to tell the Short Boys story and paired it with over-the-top tiny can visuals.

Beer ads and athlete endorsements go hand in hand, so the brand secured a cameo appearance from legendary 6’10” hall-of-fame pitcher Randy Johnson. In the spot, he says how he’s a tall boy who loves Bally Sports Short Boys.

Bally Sports partnered with five breweries in their Bally Sports+ markets to make the beer, including:
