Description
Sephora wants to open the world of makeup to men, but the outdated perception that "it's not masculine" is a major barrier. Many men see makeup as a threat to their masculinity, hindering adoption even among the curious.
Our insight is that historically, powerful icons of masculinity—pharaohs, samurais, and Vikings—all wore makeup as a symbol of power, status, or for ritual.
Our campaign idea, "Real Men Don't Wear Makeup? Are you sure?", directly challenges this prejudice with irony and historical truth, aiming to reframe makeup as an emblem of strength and tradition.
