Instead of letting these coupons go to waste, shoppers could upload a photo or screenshot of an invalid promo and receive an extended offer for a future food purchase—on one condition: they needed to buy Ziploc products. This mobile-first, frictionless activation not only revived savings but smartly reinforced Ziploc’s brand promise of preservation.
The activation rolled out through a seamless user experience where consumers simply uploaded their expired coupon, and the system validated it before applying the reward at checkout alongside Ziploc items. More than 80 retail partners and over 65,000 physical stores participated, transforming a potential disappointment into a win-win for both shoppers and retailers. The campaign delivered over +61% share of voice, a 5% uplift in sales, attracted 14% new buyers, and achieved an impressive 49% redemption rate—underscoring how well it resonated with consumers.
