Qiddiya is the city of play in Saudi Arabia. On the occasion of Founding Day 2024, we presented to our audience full circle how play has shaped the present and is creating the future.
To showcase that, we have gone through different eras and presented how play has always been a fundamental part of society; 2024, the nineties, the seventies, the forties, all the way to Founding day (1727). It is a journey through time as each of our main characters takes us back to the games they have played as children that have led them to doing what they ended up doing as adults. Play, in its different forms, is a fundamental part of shaping society. And in Qiddiya, it goes full circle as we showed that the child playing in the 1700s may have imagined a city far off in our future.
The tagline of the campaign means "From Founding day, Play keeps us alive".
