Description
To celebrate International Burger Day, Pizza Hut Ecuador temporarily put pizza aside to publicly recognize the country’s most iconic burger chains.
Through a series of playful social posts, Pizza Hut recreated the visual identity of famous burger brands using pizza slices as burger buns — blending two rival categories into one unexpected product: the “Pizza Burger.”
The campaign featured visual tributes inspired by McDonald’s, Burger King and Carl’s Jr., while inviting the audience into the joke with the line: “This started as a normal celebration.”
But beyond the greeting, the brand transformed the moment into a social challenge. Pizza Hut Ecuador publicly invited burger chains to collaborate by contributing burgers while Pizza Hut provided its My Box pizzas, encouraging people to create their own Pizza Burgers at home.
Instead of competing on Burger Day, Pizza Hut chose to celebrate burger culture with humor, nostalgia and community-driven interaction — turning a category rivalry into a conversation people wanted to join.
