Openigloo, the leading NYC rental platform, launched a creative guerrilla campaign during the 2025 New York City Marathon, bringing together two of the city’s most popular sports: running and apartment hunting.

Featuring a blend of playful “only in NYC” rental jokes, real complaints, and everyday city quirks, the campaign captures the voice and energy of New Yorkers in the moment with signs like “Pain is temporary, rent hikes are forever”.

The effort is intentionally people-powered, visible, and mostly unbranded, designed to blend seamlessly with the authentic “fan signage” of marathon day and invite coverage from crews and spectators all along the course.
