Description
Welcoming America, in collaboration with creative studio and lifestyle brand DANG, today announced the launch of an artistic collaboration inspired by E Pluribus Unum, debuting during Welcoming Week 2025 (September 12–21) led by Welcoming America, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, and implemented in partnership with organizations worldwide. Now in its 13th year, Welcoming Week is an annual campaign and celebration that highlights the growing movement of communities striving to be more welcoming places for all, including immigrants.
The collection blends streetwear, film, and storytelling to reimagine one of America’s most iconic mottos—“Out of Many, One.” At its center is an artistic collaboration designed by Karan Dang, artist, founder of DANG and former Head of Creative at The Walt Disney Company and Walmart, whose career has shaped the cultural voice of some of the world’s most recognized brands.
The collection reinterprets the U.S. eagle seal through a multicultural lens, weaving together themes of diversity, resilience, and unity. It will be available at https://welcomingamerica.org/dang/ with proceeds benefitting Welcoming America’s mission to build communities of belonging.
Accompanying the launch is “A Table for All,” a short film directed by Carol Saraiva and Will Mazzola and produced by Jessica Zerby that follows Dang—himself the child of a two-time refugee family—through immigrant neighborhoods and local markets as he prepares a communal meal with friends from around the world. Featuring a fusion menu and an original score by xplosivedevice that blends hip-hop with Indian percussion and instrumentation, the film captures how food, music, and storytelling connect across cultures.
“This project is an example of what becomes possible when creativity and community come together with generosity, gratitude and shared purpose,” said Dang. “From immigrant-owned businesses to musicians and creative directors donating their time, so many people came together to make this possible. I am deeply grateful to every collaborator and supporter who brought their talents, their stories, and their spirit of welcome to this project. For me, it’s about honoring my family’s refugee story while reflecting the present and reimagining what it means to belong in America today.”
“Welcoming Week is about lifting up the values that unite us as neighbors and communities,” said Rachel Perić, executive director of Welcoming America. “The E Pluribus Unum collaboration embodies that mission by showing how personal narratives, art, and creativity can bring people together across differences. In moments of national reflection, at a time when so much feels divided, this campaign reminds us that unity is not uniformity—it's the hard, necessary work of building belonging across difference, and that when cultures meet, something greater is born.”
Across the U.S. and around the globe, thousands of Welcoming Week events spanning Australia, Canada, Greece, Italy, New Zealand, Mexico, and 47 U.S. states will take place this year, from street festivals and community dinners to art activations and policy discussions. Together, these activities shine a spotlight on the local leaders, residents, and organizations building communities of belonging for all.
