This campaign by musician Soy Bru is about the importance of music, all music, not just the well-known, but also the unknown. It is about the need to listen to music backed by major record labels and music that is totally independent, to support the music of those great artists who sell millions of records around the world and the music of those artists who just want to be able to express themselves. A campaign that speaks to the importance of all types of music, styles, and lyrics, so that we can discover all the forms of expression that this art has to offer.
Mainstream music has just had another big hit that has become a global phenomenon: Lux. Lux, which means light in Latin, represents all that music that everyone listens to and talks about, that well-known part of music that is in the spotlight, always in the light. That's why Seville-based independent musician Soy Bru thought it was the perfect time to talk about the music he makes, the other music, the underground music that lives at night and is never in the spotlight, the music that is always in the dark, at night or Nox in Latin, the music that struggles to be different and is almost never heard but also has and should have its place. He does so through the metaphor of light and night in musical terms, because just as light (Lux) and night (Nox) would not exist without each other, mainstream and underground music are part of a whole and complement each other. And although everyone always wants to listen to the most popular music, the music that everyone talks about, the music we see advertised and recommended, the music that is always in the spotlight, they can also give a chance to music that has no support behind it, music that you have to search for because it is hard to find, but when you do find it, you discover that it is well worth listening to.
