It's All In The Tree

Agency: Tombras

Description

Dollar Tree is introducing a new side of the brand with the launch of its first-ever national brand campaign, “It’s All In The Tree,” created by Tombras. The campaign marks a new chapter for one of North America’s largest value retailers, expanding its story beyond low prices to celebrate the thrill of discovery, unexpected finds, and the joy of shopping at Dollar Tree.

Rooted in the insight that today's shoppers want more than just a good deal, the campaign positions Dollar Tree as a destination where value, convenience, and discovery come together. The ambition is to build a stronger emotional connection with consumers, deepen loyalty among existing customers, and introduce the brand to younger, higher-income shoppers who may not have Dollar Tree on their radar.

Tombras brings that positioning to life by taking the brand's name literally, creating a whimsical world inside a giant oak tree where everyday essentials sit alongside unexpected treasures. The creative transforms a familiar shopping experience into an adventure, capturing the thrill of going in for something you need and coming out with something you never knew you wanted.

Brian Messerschmitt, CMO, Dollar Tree: “Dollar Tree has always been a place where customers can stretch their dollars, but there's so much more to the experience than the price tag. Our customers come to us for everyday essentials, but they also love the excitement of discovering something unexpected. With 'It's All In The Tree,' we're bringing that feeling to life in a bigger, bolder way and inviting more people to see Dollar Tree as a destination for everything they need, and everything they didn't know they wanted.”

The campaign debuts with a :30 hero film, “New House,” which follows a couple exploring the larger-than-life tree and discovering everything from cleaning supplies and snacks to party essentials and sparkly slime. The spot celebrates the unexpected variety of products shoppers can find at Dollar Tree, closing with the new tagline: “Everything you need. And want. It's all in the tree.” The spots were directed by Autumn de Wilde of Anonymous Content.

The campaign extends into Halloween with a second :30 film, “Sour Candy,” which takes viewers inside a spooky, moonlit version of the tree. Three friends hunt for Halloween decorations and candy, with a playful exchange about sour candy leading to an unexpected addition to their shopping haul: a toothbrush. The spot brings humor and seasonal relevance to the campaign's central idea of discovery.

Paul Caiozzo, Chief Creative Officer, Tombras: “If you’re a Dollar Tree person, you already know the thrill of going. You walk in looking for one thing, and leave with six things you didn’t know you needed. Dollar Tree is practical, fun, quirky and economical, all at once. It really is all in the tree. And once we realized that, bringing this weird, wonderful, beautiful tree to life felt almost painfully obvious.”

The national campaign will run across CTV, online video, OTT, outdoor, YouTube, and social platforms including Meta and TikTok, with additional creative highlighting the beauty, party and holiday categories launching soon.

“It's All In The Tree” marks Tombras' first creative work for Dollar Tree since winning the AOR business in August 2026, establishing a new brand platform designed to extend across campaigns, seasons and shopping occasions.
