A Twisted Nightmare: Uncommon Stockholm Turns Up The Pressure for Clash Royale

For the global mobile hit’s latest launch, Uncommon Stockholm brings the threat of Hero Balloon to life in a world handcrafted from 10,487 real balloons.

To mark the launch, Uncommon Stockholm created a film made with 10,487 real balloons. Every frame, including the title card, was captured in-camera using practical craft with balloon artistry specialists Airigami.

Stockholm, April 4th, 2026: Uncommon Stockholm has unveiled its latest campaign for Clash Royale, one of the world’s biggest mobile games, marking the arrival of one of its most feared characters: Hero Balloon.

In the campaign, Uncommon Stockholm brings the psychological tension of the game into the physical world through a large-scale handcrafted production built entirely from real balloons.

“The Balloon character is famous for spreading panic in the Arena. With Hero Balloon, we wanted to show that the fear had evolved. So we built a world where the pressure was physical” says Sam Gainsborough, Director at BlinkInk.

Created in collaboration with balloon artistry specialists Airigami, the film used over 10,000 biodegradable balloons to transform Clash Royale characters into tangible, large-scale sculptures.

“Balloons are a fragile material. Things change constantly when you’re working with them and you're always on the clock because the air escapes,” says Larry Moss, Balloon Artist at Airigami. “We were able to build this entire world in less than a week. Out of thin air, no less!”

Every shot was captured in-camera, ensuring the craft is visible in every detail, from the environments to the explosions, all the way through to the title card.
“At a time when everything can be faked with digital shortcuts and AI, we wanted this film to feel unmistakably human. It’s made with world-class balloon twisters and real explosions. The craft wasn’t just how we made it. It was the idea itself,” says Björn Ståhl, CCO at Uncommon Stockholm.
