Behind the Scenes
Description
Google Pixel has launched "Garden Theory," a new social-first campaign featuring FC Bayern München attacking virtuoso and German international Jamal Musiala.
In an increasingly fast-paced world, cutting through the noise and finding true focus has never been more vital – a shift reflected in modern culture from the back-to-nature trend to the surge in urban gardening. FC Bayern München star Jamal Musiala embodies this perfectly: he resolves even the most difficult situations on the pitch with playful ease and absolute mastery over the ball. He maintains control even in the tightest spaces, even when the game around him gets hectic. In doing so, Jamal stands for a new generation of role models both on and off the pitch.
"Garden Theory" brings this philosophy to life through a surreal campaign world somewhere between a Zen garden, a football pitch, and a high-fashion editorial. Here, match-day hustle gives way to calm clarity, pressure becomes patience, and Musiala shows that composure is a competitive advantage.
The new Google Pixel 11 Pro plays a central role in the campaign. As an intelligent companion, it helps FC Bayern München’s number 10 stay clear-headed in a noisy digital world and focus on what matters in the moment. Gemini Intelligence provides personalised support with finding information and getting everyday tasks done, while the new HiLight feature helps reduce digital distractions and keep his attention where it matters most.
Blurring the boundaries between sport, fashion, and digital culture, the campaign launches in partnership with Highsnobiety, bringing Musiala's world to a global, trend-conscious audience.
Jamal Musiala: “When I need some peace and quiet, I like to spend time outside in nature or in the garden. It helps me clear my head and recharge – and that’s exactly what helps me on the pitch, too.”
Janosch Eink, Head of Culture Marketing at Google: “What makes Jamal so unique in sport is not just his talent, but his character. His incredible poise and control, with which he makes all the difference even in the key moments – whether on or off the pitch. That’s exactly why he is such a natural fit for Google Pixel. Because the Pixel is designed to minimise distractions to help you stay fully focused on the moment. And that’s what we want to convey with this campaign.”
The main campaign kicked off on, September 14, 2026. First teasers for 'Garden Theory' rolled out on September 11, 2026, across social media (Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube) and digital platforms such as Highsnobiety.
Produced by ZERO at the start of August and directed by Rogelio, the campaign features set design by Nina Oswald in collaboration with floral artist Valentina Teinitzer De Pasquale. Photography was led by Holly McCandless-Desmond.
