Renault E-Tech

Frog in the City

Agency: Publicis Conseil

Description

In 1992, Renault Twingo transformed the A-segment with its bold vision of the city car: joyful, colorful, versatile, and offering the freedom to “invent the life that goes with it.” It earned over more than 4 million drivers and became much more than just a car, a genuine pop-culture icon.

In 2025, Twingo returns in a 100% electric version, faithful to its original spirit and design, practical, agile, and clearly designed to make urban life easier.

To announce this comeback, Renault presents a pop and unexpected film created by Publicis Conseil and directed by Matvey Fiks (Birth).

The return of the “frog” to the city

At its launch, Twingo was affectionately nicknamed “the frog” by the public, for its rounded shape, agility, and cheerful expression. For its comeback, the film brings this popular nickname to life by following a swarm of small metallic frogs crossing the city, ultimately revealing Twingo E-Tech electric, its smiling front end, round headlights, and iconic green color.

Shot in Paris, the film combines live action and 3D effects by Prodigious, set to “Return of the Tres” by Delinquent Habits, a bold musical choice that gives the film its urban, mischievous rhythm, perfectly reflecting Twingo's personality.

Twingo E-Tech electric: made for the city

Reviving Twingo spirit means staying true to the first generation's DNA while reinventing it for today's urban life. Its emblematic, instantly recognizable design comes with exemplary interior space and versatility: five doors, independent sliding rear seats, and a foldable passenger backrest, everything designed to offer maximum versatility.

Twingo E-Tech electric combines silence, zero-emission driving, and advanced technologies, including advanced driver assistance systems from higher segments and OpenR Link multimedia system with Google built-in, a first in its class.

With a launch price of under €20,000 (excluding government assistance), Twingo makes electric mobility more accessible than ever.

Arnaud Belloni, Global Chief Marketing Officer, Renault:
“Twingo is part of Europe's popular automotive culture. Its nickname has always been 'the frog'. So, when we decided to launch the 'frog-colored' car, we fully embraced the reference. This car is a real breath of fresh air, positive, cool, it instantly puts a smile on people's faces.”

The film is air on TV and social media since November 6, 2025.
Before its reveal, an exclusive TV setup caused a stir in the advertising tunnel: three brief appearances of frogs slipped in to capture attention. An original way to pique the public's curiosity before the reveal of the 45-second long film.
