Description
Suicide is the leading cause of death among people aged 18–35 in Ireland, yet many people still don’t know that Samaritans, a suicide prevention charity, is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Donate Your Voicemail was created to help change that. Instead of buying media, the campaign turned voicemail into a free lifesaving media space. It asked people to change their voicemail greeting so every missed call can remind someone that help is available on 116 123, day or night.
It launched with an unbranded “Call me anytime” mural. When called, people heard Nicola’s real story of phoning Samaritans in the middle of the night. From there, the idea spread across national radio and press, with high-profile supporters, like The Corrs and Ireland's football manager and players donating their voicemails, along with thousands of Irish people.
This professional campaign titled 'Donate Your Voicemail' was published in Ireland in July, 2026. It was created for the brand: Samaritans, by ad agency: Droga5 Dublin. This Ambient, Digital, and Print media campaign is related to the Health and Public Interest industries and contains 3 media assets. It was submitted about 7 hours ago.
