In June, my colleague Natalya Zasyadko and I spontaneously decided that we needed a podcast, and maybe more than one. Usually, such ideas just pop up into the air and disappear without a trace. But we immediately went and recorded it. No microphones, no studio. Three stories from each host per issue. That's all. No complex production. No budget. Just a podcast discussing small experiences that once seemed so important.
We created a "Crazy Little Tragedy" primarily for ourselves, without any business purpose. However, we decided to add some PR magic to make it a little more interesting.
So we immediately planned a photo session to create themed promo pictures and posts for the entire first season. Actually, these original screensavers are only displayed on Spotify and YouTube, but it's worth it. Plus, this is ready-made content for Instagram.
We chose a black and white style, slightly depressing, but it allowed to immediately stand out from the crowd of other podcasts.
With good photos, it is easier to send out a press release to the media. And four Ukrainian creative media did publish it.
In the second season, which started this month, we decided to add something new. Therefor created an additional format with short video summaries of podcast topics that became a complementary element to the podcast itself and are published on TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.
