Connected by T1D, at its fabric, is an awareness campaign about protecting patients and families from the life-threatening consequences surrounding type 1 diabetes onset. Through a simple blood test, doctors can follow the familial thread that ties genetics to diabetic risk in children. However, screening isn't common practice because doctors believe that there is nothing they can do ahead of patients progressing to insulin dependence. Concentric Health Experience developed the Connected by T1D campaign to combat this clinical myth and illustrate how screening/identifying at-risk children creates an opportunity for doctors to intervene and avoid consequences of unexpected onset. At the same time, doctors will be identifying those who would be eligible for preventative therapies that are just around the corner.
