In a bold move to reimagine how canned goods are perceived, Caribou brought its products to life literally. This four-part CGI campaign infused personality, humor, and storytelling into everyday ingredients, turning them into full-fledged characters with opinions, dreams, and even a touch of attitude.
The first video opens with a dramatic misunderstanding: a young pinto bean (locally known as "chiti") questions his identity, wondering if being called "chiti" makes him a traitor, a playful pun rooted in the Persian language.
In the second, a carrot, green pea, and corn lounge inside a vegetable can like it's a beach resort, speculating where they'll be served next, each hoping to land on a dish worthy of their flavor.
The third film follows two scrawny olives excluded from a can, lamenting their lack of "olive-ness" compared to the athletic olives inside, who we find lifting weights and racing, proud of their Caribou label.
And finally, in the fourth video, a spicy bandari pickle with a southern accent boasts of its fame, recalling a glamorous moment alongside the Queen of England, flaunting a photo as proof of its international pedigree.
Each film was crafted in vertical format for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, capturing attention with fast-paced animation, local humor, and brand personality. Together, the CGI series helped Caribou stand out in the conservative category of canned goods, proving that even pantry items can have bold stories.
