Basketball Court - Moinho do Penedo
Liga Betclic (Portuguese Basketball League) and Underdogs Gallery have teamed up for an art, sport and circular economy project - Art Dunk. The ultimate aim of this is to refurbish public basketball courts.
Every year, countless balls used in basketball championship matches are discarded for regulatory reasons. This is where Art Dunk comes in: 24 balls were given to 12 artists selected by Underdogs to be transformed into works of art.
The final result was unveiled in May, when the works were presented and put up for sale online (www.artdunk.pt).
All the proceeds from the sales went towards the renovation of the Moinho do Penedo basketball court in Lisbon.
