“Creative Animals” is the latest self-promo from Lisbon-based production house Show Off / MOLA, celebrating the intersection of artificial intelligence and human creativity. At a time when Artificial Intelligence is transforming the creative landscape, Show Off / MOLA takes a playful yet thought-provoking stance with “Creative Animals” — a self-promo that shows how, while AI is a powerful tool, it’s human talent that gives it meaning. According to Alexandre Montenegro, founder of Show Off / MOLA: “Artificial Intelligence is here to stay and it’s changing the way we work. Combined with the creativity and know-how of those who’ve been making films for over two decades, it becomes a powerful tool to push boundaries — especially when paired with the most important ingredient in our industry: creative talent.” To illustrate this idea, the production company has released the web film “Creative Animals”, a humorous mockumentary featuring several advertising creatives speaking directly to camera — but with one crucial twist: each of them is represented as a different animal, symbolizing the many “species” of creatives that populate the industry. Director Luciano Ottani, known for his work in animation, adds: “What really matters is the process. The images were generated by computer and then refined through a blend of digital post-production — and plenty of 100% human skill, passion, and sweat. That’s why, when people ask if the film was made with AI, our answer is simple: it’s not AI, it’s Show Off / MOLA.” The campaign was created by Coming Soon, an independent agency based in Lisbon.
