A Place Called Pride
Agencies: AntiSocial • Thinkingbox
Description
Rainbow Refugee is a Vancouver-based organization that, for nearly 25 years, has provided essential support for the LGBTQI+ community worldwide. The nonprofit provides resources that help people flee persecution based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or HIV status in other countries, promoting safe and equitable migration.
With Vancouver Pride occurring this month, Rainbow Refugee has partnered with AntiSocial, the social media specialist arm of Thinkingbox, to produce a video generating awareness around its efforts.
The spot, live now on Instagram, LinkedIn and Youtube and viewable here, highlights the stories of Rainbow Refugee’s volunteers and employees, underscoring the notion that everyone should feel safe enough to be proud. It sends a message of year round celebration, echoing calls for Pride to span beyond a single month.
This collaboration marks AntiSocial’s second project with Rainbow Refugee. Founded in 2000, Rainbow Refugee provides support, information, and system navigation to refugees and refugee claimants seeking refugee status in Canada. The nonprofit also manages the Rainbow Refugee Assistant Partnership, allowing it to privately sponsor refugees in collaboration with other LGBTQI+ organizations in the Rainbow Coalition for Refuge.
