Brought to life by Target last year, The Newfoundland and Labrador Welcome Desk is back with online content aimed to cement the province as the premier destination for whale watching, birding, and – really the only place for – iceberg hunting.

‘The Welcome Desk: A Closer Look’ is a new series of long-form digital videos starring the familiar faces of The Welcome Desk as they give viewers, well, a closer look at puffins, whales, and icebergs. Featuring plenty of personality, charm, and user-generated content from visitors and locals, each video gives an informative and entertaining first-person perspective of the types of experiences the province has to offer ahead of its peak summer season.

“When we launched the Welcome Desk last year, we leaned into the personality and sense of humour our province is known for – and people loved it,” said TJ Arch, Creative Director at Target. “It only made sense to leverage that popularity and the personality of the characters to answer common questions, show off our province, and get people excited to visit in the spring.”

Set to launch on Wednesday, March 06, ‘A Closer Look’ is part of Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism’s spring visitation campaign, which also includes ‘The Weather’ TV ad, launched in January, newspaper print ads, social media, and digital advertising.
