I'm a full-time somebody at a world-wide agency and a wealthy American industrialist looking to open a silver mine in the mountains of Peru.

I think this is disturbing. At first I though it was an animal's rights campaign.
You want to advertise food, then advertise food not a dead pig.

Does not work for me at all.

Disturbing? It's an ad for a smokehouse whose audience is undoubtedly carnivores. The food is actually a dead pig and they're okay with that.

This is a good series of ads. The fact that it's polarising works in their favour. It will definitely resonate with their audience.

I think it works for the target.

That headline treatment needs some work. The OF is just annoying.

BTW: I dont think it's supposed to be a dead pig, but rather one that's asleep (No Monty Python jokes, please), given that the other two ads didnt show carcasses.

I think the font treatment is nice. The layout is simple and not cluttered like most advertising. These three ads are way better than the other garbage on this site. Most of the ads on here look like someone crapped it out.

I disagree. As a carnivore my self, I have nothing against eating meet.
And I understand "what is it" that I am eating.
Still I don't want to look in the face, sort of speak.

Hypocritical of me, I know. But I think most meet eaters will get squeamish,
if see dead animals or a slaughterhouse. So, I still say it is disturbing.

The pig is not yet dead, he's just agonizing while being smoked alive. That's what this atrocity of an ad tells me. Everything is wrong with this: the photography and effects, the typography, the layout, the creative, everything. Sorry Santy, keep thinking.

Wow. Everyone needs to get a life. It's a clever ad with a clever headline. The only people that should be offended is smokers. Also....Annya...meat the food is spelled "meat". You want to meet someone is spelled "meet".

its the best stock shot i could find for under 10 bucks, the big is sleeping I can see how people could get squeamish, but the client loves the ads and so do the customers that eat there. The original concept was actually the pig dreaming of being bbq it was pretty rad.

Another american headline steakhouse campaign, can't wait for the guitar one to follow. As original as it was in 1989, put the fire out.

Homer Simpson would love this place

The AD works and its clever

Guest
Guest's picture

please, homer. simply using distressed type/headlines and a rustic photo treatment does not make them clever or original. the art direction is basically the same as the ads posted right before. and they suck too.

After reading the comments here, I can only sit in wonder at what exalted yet hauntingly mysterious company I keep at AOTW.

Apparently, none of you has ever had a bad idea. Apparently, none of you ever went to CA for inspiration or had to deal with budgets that mandated cheap stock photography. Your Photoshop work was consistently miraculous, your type treatments dazzling. I am in shock. And awe.

Yeah, this isnt the greatest thing going, but it runs circles around some of the ads here that have "professional" credits a page long. It speaks well to its market. Bottom line: it gets the job done.

The ad would read better without a picture of the animal. Be clever not just obvious.
