Description
Now, the speciality of this ad is that it was done for Saudi Arabia, which is probably the most conservative country on planet Earth. Still the ad manages to strongly get the same message accross that is advertised very openly in the west.

I get your point, but surely no state sponsored censorship can be accepted outright. I live in South Africa and we had apartheid with governement support, and that doesn't make it right does it. Too much control is a very bad thing. And the world is evolving and that does mean changing mindsets, just turn the page if it's not for you.
The message is not strong. Creative people can do anything anywhere in the world.
Many creative have presented many creative artwork in Saudi.
Note: Saudi is conservative in serious issues e.g. cyber patrol, showing bared bodies, exciting people sexually, and they are right 100%.
Best of luck.

"100% right". Are you sure you're in advertising. Do you appreciate art? Sounds like right wing christian thinking to me, and we wouldn't want that would we?
Well! as there are many different schools in arts, there are also different opinions.
We should respect the culture where we are, so simply.
I feel they are 100% right. You are free to feel what you like.

Serious subjects such as barenaked bodies? What? Where is that being serious? Of course I don't want to see people copulating on TV while I'm eating breakfast but I don't mind barenaked bodies if it makes sense and it is tastefully done.
Coming back to the ad... it's great and the Saudi authorities must hate this piece because it is soooooo subtle and clever. Nice work and thanks to Dave for this strong statement.
Nice conversation over here, this is what i call culture conflict. Each culture has its own aspects and believes. No exesting for advertising in places that has no culture, because it will be meaningless. It is not what u have called 'right wing christian thinking", it is respecting a culture believes and as u should know, it is a key factor of success in advertising. If they don't like the Saudi market, then why do they advertise there??? Money???? Who knows!!!!!! If so, then no need to criticize.
You are 100% right, Youngo..
They love and hate in the same time, they love their money, but they hate the culture and the restrictions which prohibit free sex and prostitution. I feel that Saudi is a well-done conservative country, and I respect Saudi policy to prevent sex trade.
If they do not like Saudi, they are welcome to leave it and not to add to their adv. & media activities.
That's so SIMPLE.
