It's funny, but the fact that your friends are dicks has nothing to do with getting a dog. I like it anyway.
An axe murderer of ads.
I disagree. The dog is said to be man's best friend. The idea works. A true best friend wouldn't do this to you. I think this would read better as: Add a true friend. Adopt a dog.
There's a universe in every pair of eyes. Explore it.
Cool way of asking people to adopt a proper BFF without using the old sad puppy eyes staring up at you.
What's your ad telling the consumer?
The emotive aspect of this ad is very humorous, appealing to, and aimed at young adults who can relate to the scenario in the picture. It ties well to the saying 'dog's are a man's best friend'. Using this idea, they use an image of someone pulling a prank on their friend when passed out in the hope that viewers will recognise that a dog being their friend would never do such a thing. Given the nature of the ad, it would be said that they were aiming it at young adults/college students who are still getting very drunk, partying, and are using Facebook. However, that age demographic is probably least likely to adopt a dog as they perhaps don't wont the responsibility of a dog whilst trying to stand on their own two feet and establish themselves in school or in a new job. Therefore, I would say the ad is very clever, however it is probably aiming at the wrong target audience.

Nice. The humor is strongly connected to the aspect, so it works.
