Description
Print advertisement created by Ogilvy, Ukraine for Ogilvy, within the category: Agency Self-Promo.
Creative Director: Will Rust
Art Director: Taras Dzendrovskii
Copywriters: Will Rust, Robin Weeks

Funny. And yet, a rip-off of its own (CA several years ago. It's even art-directed nearly the same).

clearly, the blurred out number is not that of ogilvy singapore :)

a scam ad about scam ads.

Step #6 - Hire an English speaking proofreader to correct the grammar in your scam ad.

this scam ad doesn't even follow it's own rules.

a scam on scamming.

Who is this actually written for? Prospective clients? If so, I'm sure there must be better ways to convince them to go to Ogilvy.

L.A.M.E.

What's the point of this ad? or spread? or parking lot flyer? or inside joke?
I'd love to see an industry-wide campaign against Scam Ads.

"I love some things, and don't love some other things."

copy could've gone through a few more polishing stages (no deadline, infinite company resources)

Good slap on the face for the awards-hungry advertising industry. Even if you think it sucks, guys, take a printout and put it up on your softboard. Might bring some sense back to your nonsense job.
EXCELLENT.
The copy tested my patience, but i got the twist at the end needed to justify my patience. Well done. I don't know what would have i done in a real life situation when it is published in the press and i'm skimming to end the newspaper in 2.5 minute.

If i would take this ad serious we would have to look into the target group and the advertising promise: first of all they say you should rather work on their real clients. Point taken. But that means you will never win an award because clients - most of the time, dont know that creativity is good for them. So Packshot and big logo. No awards - which is the guarantee that you wont become the next Tony Granger or Erik Vervroegen.
That´s still ok, but with every product the consumer asks "what does it do for me" and this is where this concept get´s lame: they promise me i am not scaming. But does this mean i will do awesome work for creative clients? Big budgets? Fully integrated work to which Alex Bogusky will jerk off?
If you hate scams dont do them. If you wanna hire creatives promise them something. That´s the very first rule in advertising and you failed.
You guys wanted to sell an attitude but come on - how lame is the USP "We´re not doing scams".

Besides that: Ogilvy is one of the biggest scamers on the planet. And that´s good because i pity every network creative who´s not allowed to go wild from time to time. Even if it´s for the accountants hairdresserfriend.

It's hilarious that Ogilvy runs this. Have you run it past Khai Ming yet? He'd shit his designer jeans if he thought Ogilvy couldn't scam any more.
if OGILVY says it - its correct

haha...this is a seriously well written long copy ad.

love step 4. art direct it to death..
because i always do that!
It's a bit self-conscious. And I got the feeling that it was more of an ad to attract new hires than to attract clients.

the kings of scam should not be saying this! and ironically it's been done before! :P

Did anyone else get that this is a joke? I thought it was great. A good laugh. It's not going to change the industry. Scamming is still going to happen. But there's nothing wrong with finding humour in something that everyone does now and then.
