This is not an ad - it is a poster and in India you are allowed to show alcoholic drinks in BTL. Hope that answers any doubts about its autheenticity :-) And would be grateful to the guys who say it's done if they can provide a link or at least detail the ad and the brand.

in general:
no, it's not a bad thing that you don't know every single idea ever had and aired.
yes, it's always easier to say it ran than showing it.
in this particular case:
yes, it's a bad thing to not only have this idea (by today's standards a very bad one)
but also to think it hadn't been done before. both in the 20th and 21st centuries.
as for proof, well, if you have to ask... : )
still, i'm sure super bock (a portuguese beer) did it. more than once, even.
good bloody idea either way. clever, cheeky, reverant, subtle and humbling. although any beer brand could use it. bit generic
