The message, from my point of view, isn't the most appropriate. It feels kind of insulting owing people are who tend give bad traits to animals. For me, it's saying that I would be pleased somebody treat me like an animal, in the bad way, of course. And the use of the statistics above isn't making it better neither helping the message. I don't think the comparison of the investment to help pets vs humans is fair at all. There are many things going on in this world to compare with.
