I mean good enough to show around to fellow creatives but there is nothing in this ad that says buy this product. It just makes me aware of the problem and I bet it is not the awareness campaign.

Prevent this thing from happening (interesting visual/problem). Use Bioxcin (packshot/product/solution).
Don't listen to people telling you an ad has to explicitly order customers to do something (CTA).
We learn what advertisements want us to do before we learn how to write...

Did you notice how most common adverts are merging to different visuals into one picture and then everybody claps claiming what a beautiful concept they came up with? I am long enough in this business to have my own opinion, and my opinion is that this approach is not special at all.

Millions of ideas/concepts (good ones and bad ones) can steam from any advertising technique.
In this case, THE IDEA is that the back of the head is like a (plugged) sink - (sooner or later it gets unplugged and) it "swallows" your hair. If anyone has made an ad with this comparison, you can say it is not unique.
It's not like saying "okay, we have an anti hair loss product, let's do another merging-two-different visuals-into-one-picture. We are done!"
The valuable creative work is FINDING the other thing that CAN be merged visually and makes perfect SENSE according to the message. Knowing lots of ad techniques can help you to come up with an idea that will fall into an existing category, but it can never compensate the lack of creativity. I am pretty sure there are no brand new categories, just new ideas.
