If I were an albino I'd be eating a whole crate. Pity it doesnt work on the hair though.

She reminds me of the albino in My Chemical Romance's video for "I don't love you".

I do believe I get the idea now.

You know, this would be a much better ad if the hand she was eating them with was starting to take on a healthy tanned color (as if its spreading from her fingers down her wrist).

I reckon that its trying to say eat golden skins for golden skin, if you're very pale.

Whats that got to do with eating the crisps?

To me thats like saying, eat this soup, it'll make your house worth more, or something.

Absolutely no conceivable connection, fantastical or otherwise, it just doesn't work.

Out of curiosity, did this win any awards?

It's a fool who looks for a tangible, believable benefit from a product like junk food.

Fool? A fool? I don't need a beleivable benefit, but a message you can take out of the ad is essential. This has none.

Like this; http://adsoftheworld.com/media/radio/combos_pretzels_france

Otherwise its not an ad fuckwad, despite how many cannes it wins.

It does so have a message:

"Golden Skins potato crisps."

That's the message.

And that's ALL the message this kind of product needs. Someone sees this, gets the joke, has a good laugh, goes away remembering the brand name. Next time he's in the junk food aisle of his local grocery store, he sees this, he remembers the ad. And he might just pick up a pack.

And that's ALL you can expect from an ad. For ANY kind of product.

You can disparage Cannes or any other award show all you want, but they're the closest thing to an objective standard of advertising quality you're gonna get. There's no other standard.

D & AD is better. There's the standard.

And besides, taste - there's a benefit a junk food can have, or that it fills you up or something, there's another.

You CAN, and SHOULD expect more.

An albino isn't "golden" - they're white. Party white. Poweder white. Like an uncooked chip. I do like the photography, though - she's captured beautifully. Still...
