NFS Outdoor Ad - Stutter billboard

Description

Often not-stuttering people (accidentally) interrupt people who stutter, by finishing their sentences. This billboard tells them this isn’t necessary: most of the time just having a little patience is enough.

Outdoor advertisement created by Y&R, Netherlands for NFS, within the category: Public Interest, NGO.

Caption

Be patient with people who stutter

This is so dumb. There is no way you can stutter like this. Not impressed.

I have to ask, do you stutter? Do you know anyone who stutter?
I think not because if you did, you would have appreciated the message behind this ad.

people who stutter might not enjoy it or even agree with it but for the rest the concept is grasped , so good work.

It doesn't make sense. It's just a nice visualisation of stuttering, but wat's the point the are trying to make? Where's the patient part?

Many who have commented are asking what the point of this ad is or whether or not it is possible to even stutter like this. I have to say that as a man with a stutter I find your comments to be incredibly disheartening. The point is ad is to raise awareness of the difficulties and complexities of stuttering through clever and tasteful execution.

Good concept, something about it bothers me though, it almost seems like it's mocking people who stutter.

..."can't stutter like that"?" what's the point"?

Wow! really? ummm, this is visual communication. And I think as mentioned it's to drive awareness, and does it in a soft and light hearted manner. Very nicely done, and it puts a smirk on my face, as we can all be short at times with anybody, and this imprints my mind to be more patient. I'm rather surprised with the few.
