That's how I felt about it. Like his father is such a bastard he won't even give him a single coin so the kid turns to theft and alcohol! Bah

I still don't get this. Is the kid doing this so dad looses all his money? Or is this planned because the kid will be standing behind when the money falls?.
I've gotta agree with what Diana is saying, there's too many possible interpretations of this image that clouds the message. The point here is that the vanilla cone is cheap, not SO delicious that a kid is willing to steal from it.
Unless they're trying to say that all the cone costs is a small amount of fabric from a pants pocket then the image doesn't really work.
