Conclusion: you have to be absolutley careful when pronouncing this idiom, also good campaign.

Is this one single language? Is this in Vietnamese?

Yes Ad Eagle, it's in Vietnamese. We did them for Coke Vietnam to run locally. They wanted a campaign to run directly after TET on 18 February here. The brief was to get people to think positively for the New Year.

An axe murderer of ads.

Interesting language. But the idea is somewhere too simple.

Simply by covering up one letter with a Coke bottle, a negative Vietnamese phrase becomes a positive statement. In English, it would be like removing the ‘h’ from ‘threat’. This campaign ran for Coke in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in March, encouraging Vietnamese to think positive after TET – New Year here. We had over 30, of which our client chose 6. They also ran as animated digital billboards where the Coke bottle bounced in, slid in and 'walked' in to cover the letter.
