On December 19, 2017, the Maple Leafs celebrated the 100th anniversary of professional hockey in Toronto. While the Centennial Season was spent honoring the past, the team wanted to use the December 19th game to celebrate the future.
To reach our next generation of fans, the team built the The Next Century Game program to focus specifically on youth. From moving the game to a weekday afternoon, to inviting thousands of young fans into the building, to hosting viewing parties with schools across Toronto – we recruited thousands of new Leafs fans who will be loyal for years to come.
