In this ad by Panasonic, I believe there are two main themes. The first is that if you buy one of these new laptops, you will be a winner. They include Jeff Gordon, who is a profound winner in NASCAR, in the advert and show him with the new technology. Having this legendary figure connected to this brand shows that if you purchase this product you could, one day, be like Jeff Gordon. At the end of the ad he holds the laptop up like it were a trophy, which shows that its an honor to own one of these Toughbooks.
The second theme of the ad would be the durability and quality of the “Toughbook 54”. Throughout the commercial individuals can be seen throwing the laptop around, spraying it with champagne and jumping around with the laptop. This is unusual, as most laptop advertisements are more guided to speed and reliability of the equipment. However Panasonic have added a new twist buy creating this sturdy yet reliable laptop.
