Okanagan Spring Brewery

Let The OK Times Begin

Agency: One Twenty Three West

Description

On May 13, Okanagan Spring Brewery is launching a marketing campaign to kick off summer. Set in the Okanagan valley, referred to as the “OK” by locals, the spots celebrate “OK Times”—the kind of laid back, up for anything fun that happens in a place surrounded by lakes and cabin life.
The videos, created by Okanagan Spring Brewery and One Twenty Three West, will run online from May to July and feature OSB’s 1516 lager, a beer brewed in the Okanagan from just 4 natural ingredients.
“We’re one of British Columbia’s original craft breweries,” says Peter Bodenham, VP Marketing at Sleeman Breweries. “Our local roots are really what inspired Let the OK Times Begin. It’s our way of bringing the Okanagan to the world, reminding people of the feeling of sitting around a campfire with your friends, or floating away the day in a lake.”
Shot in Kelowna, one of the Okanagan’s most popular summer destinations, the 60-second spot features local talent shedding their city and work clothes, BBQing on bikes, golfing on the run, and diving into a floatie-filled lake, getting ready for summer’s arrival.
“Summer doesn’t stick around long, especially in Canada. We wanted to bring that ‘seize the moment’ feeling to life,” says Caroline Howson, Client Services Director at One Twenty Three West. “When the weather turns, and the sun’s out, you can’t wait to get away with your friends to somewhere like the Okanagan, with a beer like 1516.”
Let the OK Times Begin launches in time for the May long weekend, historically Canada’s biggest beer-consuming holiday. The spot will run online, supported by a series of 15-second cutdowns. The campaign will run throughout the summer.
