This car is probably in a super crowded competitor space where reliability, cost, and style are all about equal. So can't focus on the engine or the tires. All that's left is to make the minutia look extra cool. It's not gonna sell a million more cars, but it's clever as hell, no doubt. I'm sure somebody has done the math to find out that every 100th on-the-fence customer will make a buying decision based on a gadget. Or contrasting colored seat stitching.
