This is one of the most visually appealing TV commercials I have seen. I love Burt’s Bees lip balm for so many reasons. This ad helped remind me of that and got me wanting more.

The way the ad starts out with the bees carrying the lip balm and then dropping it helps to emphasize that Burt’s Bees lip balms are made with natural ingredients. It seems as if the lip balm is coming directly from the bees to the consumer. Showing all of the fruits that represent the different flavors also play into this, giving it a very natural feel.

What a creative way to show all of the different flavors! From the butterflies with grapefruit slices as wings to the pomegranate balloon that bursts, every flavor introduction really captures the eye. The transitions from one flavor to the next flow ever so effortlessly. I felt like my eyes were on an exciting journey waiting to see what flavor was going to come next.

Because Burt’s Bees is mainly known for its original lip balm that has a peppermint scent, I think this is a great way to alert consumers of the wide variety of lip balms that the company actually offers. The firework of fruit at the conclusion was the perfect ending. It showed all of the different choices people actually have.

After watching this, I want to go to the store and get myself a new flavor of Burt’s Bees lip balm, and I think many other people who see this will want to as well. So not only is Burt’s Bees creating awareness of all of the flavors of its lip balm, but it is also very likely getting people to look for these flavors next time they are shopping.
