The obvious pros of this advertisement are its production quality and eye catching visuals. The high intensity action cut scenes are hard to ignore and will grab the attention of those viewing. Many are unable to make the full commitment to full time armed services and as a result will tend to shy away. But, explaining on the screen that after training is complete you are not required full time, but rather on given weekends will draw in those who might have written off military service as a possibility. I feel like this advertisement is directed at an age demographic of 18-25. Those who do not have families or are still in the job purgatory of post grad life will see this as an opportunity to better their lives. Some can look at the heavy reliance on high intensity visualization at as an exaggeration of what will actually happen. A good fix would be to have an active reservist giving his or her testimonial on their choice to join the army reserve and how it has affected their lives along side cuts from the video to bring things back down to earth.
