Hello,
I really think that this is globally a really good commercial from Airbnb.

The timing, 25 years exactly after the fall of the Berlin Wall is perfect and this ad couldn’t come at a better moment of Germany history.
Also, the fact that this ad is make for the German national television is a really nice targeting of the market: the German people are proud to be united as they shown during celebration of this 25th birthday, and they want everyone to feel home in Berlin.
The “based on a true story” allows people living at this time and having the same feeling to refer to this ad.

On a technical point of view, this ad is also really well done: the music used for this ad, a classical music, gives a really good rhythm to this story which seems more like a small testimony than an ad.
The fact that they used drawing instead of actors make it also most realistic and easier for everyone to refer to it. Same for the bird, which seems not to fit in this ad in a first place, takes all of its sense when it becomes the logo of Airbnb.

Does any of you does not like this ad from Airbnb? Any particular reasons?
I know that they don’t talk about the recent controversies about the fake apartments, or the quality questions, but this ad seems to fit perfectly the country it is supposed to reach, at the time it is supposed to, and I think that this is absolutely perfect.
