Wrigley’s Digital Ad - Adopt the Wofty

Check out the microsite:

At last you can get to know better the Wofty and even adopt it via a completely new website. With 4 funny original steps, the “white experience” of Freedent gives the opportunity to those who have already fallen under the Wofty’s spell to adopt it, to tame it, to raise it...Anyway to live a unique experience with this little white ball of fluff. Furthermore, the relation built with the Wofty will continue thanks to numerous goodies offered on the website, like this widget you can embed on your blog:

To check out the site is a little complicated. You need to register than verify the email, then you can login... :( But you get the idea of the game from the widget above.

This widget is cool but they shot themselves in the foot with that site. They give people to many reasons to give up and do something else.

I suffered through the long wait time.

I gave them my personal information (and there was no way to opt out of "newsletters, information of new product launches, promotions, games and special displays")

I trudged on because of the promise of wofty joy, but alas, no wofty for me.

I have to postpone my wofty joy until they send me a confirmation email, which I'm sure will be followed by copious amounts of spam.

It's disappointing because this is a cool concept that will never work because it was handled by people who don't understand how the internet works. Look at any successful viral piece, the one constant is that it is easy to access. Internet users won't spend this much time to play with a wofty. There's plenty of other entertaining things out there that are easier to get to.

Agree. I quit the site as soon as I was asked to register.

I mean, c'mon... is all that time really worth it? Not for me, I guess.
