Too bad licensing etc obviously got in the way, otherwise I'm pretty sure the way this would be an Olympics focused ad and centered on the Canadian Olympic hockey team.
Still a nice ad, but if it were Russian hockey announcers, and team Canada on the bench, with everyone that joined the ice wearing team Canada jerseys, and the opposing nation being outnumbered 100-1, it would have been significantly more powerful. I would have really loved that ad.
I totally agree with you. The creative team is probably still loosing sleep over this one.
I doubt it. The brief was probably, "We have Sidney Crosby signed for 5 ads this year, you need to make an ad with him."
