Swedish telco Telia works to combat loneliness among the elderly during the holidays by demonstrating the possibilities with modern day communication technology. About 500 000 Swedes say that they feel extra lonely during Christmas, many of whom are senior citizens. An age group that is also overrepresented regarding lack of digital “know how”. So, during December Telia set out to inspire and demonstrate how stable and unlimited internet connections together with modern digital communication tools like Facetime or even a mobile presence device can help seniors stay in touch with family, friends and grandkids for Christmas.
