Colle+McVoy: Twaugmented reality
Colle+McVoy Digital Ad - Twaugmented reality

Description

This ad is a unique experience that’s much larger than just the ad. The simple print ad features the Colle+McVoy logo, but it’s actually an augmented reality key that transforms from a little black box into a 3-D experience. It is called “twaugmented reality” because the key reveals the Minneapolis skyline surrounded by live Twitter feeds featuring Colle+McVoy. When you rotate the key, the other side shows the NYC skyline with live Twitter feeds with Advertising Week mentions.

Here is the pdf of the ad you can print out and experience, as well as a demonstration video.

Digital advertisement created by Colle+McVoy, United States for Colle+McVoy, within the category: Agency Self-Promo.

No. I really don't care enough about why you have made your logo bigger to go to all that bother. The consumer is your boss, not your bitch. Why should they go to all that bother just because you tell them to?

You got a point, but there are people with too much time and curiosity who will indeed try this and show it to their friends.

I'm sure there are always some, but there are an awful lot of places to lose readers in the long chain between seeing this ad and doing what they ask.

What if my computer isn't handy? Am I going to keep the ad 'til it is? What if I don't have a webcam? Or I can't quite figure how to turn it on? And how certain are they it will work with all OS? And that's ignoring the fact there is nothing in the ad to entice me to do as they ask.

An awful lot of wastage however you look at it. Just IMO of course.

I've seen a number of these recently, but never one with a live Twitter feed nor one that could be turned upside down for an alternate message... Cool.

Innovation is not a concept. This is not a concept.
